Welcome    :-)

I made this web site to help people who are learning English.  This site cannot teach you.  It can only help you to learn.  It hope it will help beginners, and learners at higher levels, and native speakers also.

This web site works best when you use a regular computer. It won’t work well on a smart phone.

I have two university degrees, BSc and PhD.  Both are from Canadian universities.

I am not an expert in English language.  But I have  liked English grammar since I was a boy, and have done academic writing.  I carefully researched everything on this web site.  In other words, I studied what is written by real experts and shared it with you.

I live in Alberta Canada.

Here are some of the important injunctions of 16th Century theologian Menno Simons, who founded the Mennonite church:
“True evangelical faith cannot lie dormant; it clothes the naked; it feeds the hungry; it comforts the sorrowful; it shelters the destitute; it binds up what is wounded; it heals the sick; it becomes all things to all people.”

Extracts from Holocaust survivor Eli Wiesel’s 1986 Nobel Prize speech:

“When human lives are endangered … that place must – at that moment – become the center of the universe …”

“As long as one child is hungry, our lives will be filled with anguish and shame.”

“What all these victims need above all is to know that they are not alone …that when their voices are stifled we shall lend them ours …”

“Our lives no longer belong to us alone; they belong to all those who need us desperately.”
